About

Hi, my name is Steven, and I'm the founder of One Word Domains!

Finding the perfect domain name for your startup/side project can be a fairly tedious process. Frustrated by this very problem myself, I decided to build a tool that takes the top 10,000 most commonly-used English words, pair them up with TLDs like .ai, .co, .com, and .io, and run them through a WHOIS script to find the ones that are still available for hand-registration.

Turns out, I wasn't the only one who had the same problem.

When I launched One Word Domains in May 2020, it got to #2 on Product Hunt and the front page of Hacker News, and had over 20K visitors to the site in the matter of 3 weeks.

It's been a really surreal experience to see something I built from scratch make such a significant impact on so many people's lives on a global scale. I'm truly grateful to each and every one of you who supported One Word Domains from the very beginning, and I cannot wait to roll out more features to give you a better user experience.

If you're interested in learning how I built One Word Domains from scratch, I wrote a piece on Hackernoon detailing my build process:

Last but not least, I'm always open to exciting new projects, so if you are currently working on one, feel free to reach out on Twitter or via email.
